Pet Care Policies
Access to property: Clients are responsible for providing the sitters with either a door code, garage code, or a lock box with key. Clients are responsible for providing the sitters with any alarm codes and instructions.
Payment Agreement: Clients are responsible for payment by 14 days after invoice has been received. A late fee of $10 per succeeding week after issuance of the original invoice will be incurred for any late payments.

Holiday Surcharge:
Any services scheduled on a recognized United States federal holiday will incur an additional $20.00 surcharge per visit. This surcharge applies automatically to all services performed on the holiday, regardless of service type, duration, or frequency. The holiday surcharge will be added to the total invoice for services rendered on that date. Federal holidays include those officially recognized by the United States government. The current list of federal holidays can be found at www.opm.gov or provided upon request. By scheduling services on a federal holiday, Client acknowledges and agrees to the applicable holiday surcharge.
Cancellation policy: Notice of cancellation requires 24 hours advance notice. Cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled appointed will be automatically charged the full booking fee and reflected on the next invoice.
Inclement weather: During inclement weather sitters are responsible for the safety of themselves as well as the pets. For any weather considered dangerous (such as snow, ice, excessive heat, thunderstorms, etc), our policy is to make sure pets will have a chance to relieve themselves but will be promptly returned indoors for their safety. This policy is up the discretion of The Dog Dad staff. The Dog Dad follows Federal Government OPM closings. If weather causes it to be closed we will be closed as well for the safety of staff and animals.
Charges will not be incurred in the event this happens. Clients are responsible for clearing access to residence/property including walkways, steps, etc during inclement weather for the safety of our staff.
Pet Sitting services: Pet sitting clients are responsible for providing food, litter, clean water, and any other necessities required for pet care. If any supplies run out while our under care, the company will provide supplies and charge the client for each item plus an additional fee.
Injury or illness: In the event of an injury or illness we will first notify you and coordinate requested and/or appropriate care. In the event of a life threatening emergency The Dog Dad will proceed to seek care with an available vet as soon as possible. Vet bills will be forwarded and invoiced to the client for reimbursement in the event The Dog Dad should be required to
pay for services on site.
Termination: The Dog Dad Pet Services, LLC reserves the right to end a Client and Company relationship at any time for any reason.
Security Camera disclosure: Please notify The Dog Dad staff if security cameras are in the residence.
Liability & Indemnification: Client agrees that The Dog Dad Pet Services staff is not liable for any injury, illness, or death of the pet unless such injury or death is directly caused by The Dog Dad Pet Services staff’s gross negligence or willful misconduct. Client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Dog Dad Pet Services, its employees, agents, and subcontractors from any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from or related to the pet’s behavior, including but not limited to bites, scratches, property damage, or injury to persons or other animals. Client further agrees that The Dog Dad Pet Services staff is not responsible for any damage to the home, property, or belongings unless caused by The Dog Dad Pet Services staffs gross negligence or willful misconduct. In the event of any claim against Pet Sitter, Client agrees to provide prompt written notice and to cooperate fully in Pet Sitter’s defense.
Assumption of Risk:
Client acknowledges that pet care services involve inherent risks, including but not limited to pet illness, injury, escape, or unpredictable behavior. Client acknowledges that pets may be aggressive or may behave unpredictably, even if previously trained. Client agrees that The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC cannot guarantee the pet’s safety or behavior and that the pet may become injured or ill
during the service period. Client acknowledges that The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC has not made any representations or warranties regarding the pet’s temperament, health, or behavior, and Client assumes all risks associated with pet care services. Client understands and agrees that The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC is not responsible for any injuries or damages resulting from the pet’s behavior, unless caused by The Dog Dad Pet Services staffs gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Confidentiality & Privacy:
The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC agrees to keep all client information confidential, including but not limited to client name, address, contact information, security codes, and home access instructions. The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC will not share or disclose any confidential information to third parties without client consent, except as required by law or to provide emergency veterinary care. Pet Sitter may use client information only for the purpose of providing pet care services.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction:
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Charles County, Maryland, and the parties hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
Medication Release:
Client authorizes The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC to administer medication to the pet as directed in writing by the Client. Client agrees to provide all medication in its original container with the pet’s name, dosage instructions, and administration schedule clearly labeled. Client must provide written
instructions for each medication, including the name of the medication, dosage, frequency, method of administration, and any special instructions or warnings.
Client acknowledges that administering medication to animals carries inherent risks, including but not limited to incorrect dosage, adverse reactions, or injury. Client agrees to release and hold harmless The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC from any liability related to the administration of medication, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by The Dog Dad Pet Services LLC Staff. Client also agrees to provide emergency contact information and veterinary authorization in the event of an adverse reaction or medical emergency related to medication. If the pet exhibits unusual symptoms or side effects, Pet Sitter will contact Client immediately and may seek veterinary care if necessary. Client agrees to be responsible for all veterinary costs incurred.
Additional Rates for Medicine Administration:
Oral medicines/pills - $5 per visit up to 5 medications
Insulin and Injectable Medicines - $10 per visit
Fluid therapy and other more extensive medical requirements - $20 per visit
Severability:
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely reflects the parties’ original intent.
